Lorna Savage & Dot - 2004 Open Champions

What can I say about Dot?  Most people who trial know who Dot is and have watched her on the trial field for the past 9 years.  Dot will be 10 on the 17th of February and I do not believe how the time has flown by since I entered her in her first trial.  Those trials are a blur and so were her runs, in her Pro-Novice year all I remember is sending her on an outrun and then trying to beat her to the pen, she was that fast.  She has style; she has ability and most of all she has heart.  Now a days she is slowing down, she is getting a little gray and likes the warmth of being inside and lying in her favourite chair.  She has touched the hearts of many and still continues to do so.  Dot has made me proud to be her handler.  I will ever be grateful to Ivan Weir who brought her from Texas to Sheep Focus when she was a wee bit of a shy thing and said “Lorna, I have brought a dog for you” Spin, my first border, won Dot’s exact purchase price that weekend.  Funny how things work out.
