With the successful addition of Kelly’s Ben to our household, we decided to add another Jeanne Weaver bred and trained dog for me.  Enter Keane (a son of  her Don out of daughter of her Liz by Terry Sheaffer’s Tux) who had been returned to Jeanne by a Michigan Novice handler who was leaving the sport in the summer of 2006. Jeanne put some reminder training on him and I purchased him in the late fall of 2006.  We spent the first few months getting used to each other, and entered our first trial in January 2007. Which to my surprise and delight we won!  We went on to have a good trial year with placements in Ontario and US trials.  Keane has taught me a lot over this year.  Getting a started dog was just what I needed to help me with my handling skills and enabled me to better understand my other dog, Amber, who got me into this sport.  We moved up to Pro-Novice at the end of the Ontario trial season - this is a big step for me - but with Keane’s skills, I am sure we will continue to progress
