A dog with a legion of winning behind him is great to have in any hand’s kennel.  This is Bart.  2005 US National Champion.  He is part of a wonderful legacy of Border Collies that have been mine for more than five generations.  He has had trouble this year, maintaining the level of excellence he has had in the past.  While he occasionally vexes his hand by running with a loose screw, he has more regular fits of brilliance and they have been his salvation for 2007.  Top trial dogs live their lives with remarkable pressure.  I suppose it cannot help but get to them now and again.  Bart has a lot of living left to do.  He is seven.  I hope he will draw upon all his inner resources for his senior citizenship, so that he can be a real uncle to Clive, and not look like a pale cousin.
